Song of the Week: Saints of Los Angeles by Mötley Crüe

Here is the video for Mötley Crüe's song Saints of Los Angeles which is from the album of the same name (in stores now). A review of the album is forthcoming but until then enjoy watching Mötley Crüe's return to the music scene.

Album Review: Immortal Technique - The 3rd World

Immortal Technique is back with The 3rd World, a studio mixtape that is his first release since his 2003 album Revolutionary Vol. 2. It is a sixteen track album that features production from DJ Green Lantern and guest appearances from rappers such as Chino XL and Ras Kass.

I can guarantee that Tech will not be showing up on any of your local hip-hop stations, but some of hip-hop's greatest rarely do. While I would not go as far as to brand Immortal Technique as one of hip-hop's greatest, The 3rd World is a fabulous refresher from the likes of Flo Rida and Soulja Boy. Like previous albums, The 3rd World is a fiercely political album that is high powered from start to finish. The way Immortal Technique delivers his rhymes on this album remind me of Eminem's delivery on albums such as The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show., passionate and angry. This biting flow is my favorite aspect of Immortal Technique's music. Content wise The 3rd World is filled with left wing lyrics, not surprising from a self described "socialist guerrilla." While I can't say I agree with the majority of the views he expresses in his songs (being a republican that is relatively impossible) I still find the music to be worth my while.
